MISAI REJOINS SERYES

Former Barcala captain and midfielder Misai has signed a two-year deal with his former club Seryes FC.

The 20++ -year-old midfielder was released by Barcala at the end of last last season, prompting interest from a number of clubs around MMU.

But Misai, who was ruled out of the World Cup through and ankle injury, decided on a return to Seryes.
"With my transfer to Seryes a circle is complete," he told their official website.

"I had a beautiful and successful time here, on which I like to look back on a lot.
"That was a factor in my decision."

Misai played for Seryes between 2008 and 2009, scoring few goals before a move to Barcala.

He has 98 caps for his country, but it is unclear if he will continue his international career after his South Africa heartbreak.
His new deal with Seryes, who finished in quarter final stage last season, is worth a reported €15 million ($18.58m).

AZIQ JOINS SPIRULINA

Aziq has been officially presented as a Spirulina player following his move from Seryes.

The Kajangian has been linked with Spirulina for much of the summer and he travelled to the city on Wednesday to undergo a medical.

A deal with Seryes had already been agreed, which was reported to be in the region of 15million euros (£11.9million).

The transfer has now been finalised and Aziq has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at Spiru's Park.

He becomes Spirulina's second signing as following the arrival of Senyum from Lanun.

The 23-year-old, who scored seven goals in 89 appearances for Seryes, has set his sights on winning silverware with Spirulina.

He earned rave reviews for his stylish displays in Seryes Arena after joining from Dettol in 2006,and played a key role again last season as Seryes fell just short in their pursuit of the MMU Champions League title.

SERYES SIGNS LANUN DUO

Seryes have completed the signings of Lanun duo; defender Shahril and midfielder Reza.

Former Lanun defender Shahril, 25, has signed a two-year contract with Seryes, with the option of a third year, and arrives after his deal with the Lanun expired.
The strong centre-half links up with compatriot Jo at SDX, after talks which were revealed by skysports.com.

Shahril was a former youth team captain at Lanun and has been called up by the Sdx Under-19s in the past.

He will link up immediately with the squad for pre-season training and the club have made a compensation offer to Lanun for the player.

Meanwhile, Seryes have also snapped up Lanun midfielder Reza for an undisclosed fee.

The 20++-year-old Spanish playmaker made 23 appearances for the Lanun last season and will provide competition for current central midfielders Shah & Izmie.
Reza's deal with Lanun expired this summer and the two clubs agreed a compensation package allowing the former Spanish Under-21 international to pen a two-year deal, with the option of a third year.

Seryes will be looking for a successful campaign in the MMU Cup next term having finished last season in quarter final stage.

Iman Pleases With Draw

Iman believes Seryes’ MMU Champions League quarter-final with Spirulina brings together two of MMU's most stylish clubs.

Friday's draw pitted together arguably the two most aesthetically pleasing sides on the continent.

Avi is set to face his former side in what is sure to be an emotional tie for the midfielder.

Seryes hosts Spirulina in the first leg on 2nd April before facing a difficult return meeting on 9th April.

Iman, back to full fitness and in good form, is confident the two clubs will serve up an affair to remember.

"Fans should really be looking forward to this tie as it will be a crowd-puller," he told www.mmufootball.com.

"Both sides have the same football philosophy and desire to entertain football fans. Naturally, the players are looking forward to it as well."

With Iman now firing on all cylinders and Shah and Jo back after niggles, the Kedahan schemer is encouraged by an almost clean bill of health after he recovered from flu.

The Golden Pair on Fire!!!

Seryes 'GOLDEN PAIR', Maher and Pian are on fire after both of them are scoring goals in recent games. Currently Maher is on top of the top scorer list after scoring against Garuda FC in Seryes' friendly match that ended with Seryes winning the match by 3-0.

It is hoped that these two hot shots will keep on scoring for Seryes to help the team achieve more victories in the MMU Champions League.

Pian pledged future with Seryes

Aris Sufian has pledged his long-term future to Seryes.

Speaking during a training session in Seryes Park, Pian insists he is happy to stay with Seryes.

Reports emanating from MMU suggest SRM are weighing up a mega offer to prise Pian away from Seryes Park, but the striker admits he cannot imagine himself playing for anyone else than Seryes.

"I don't see myself playing for SRM, or FnF or Black Emperor or any other team," said Pian.

"I see myself playing for Seryes. I have a long contract and that's that.

Pian Stars In Seryes Important Win

Pian, the little Seryes striker starred in the magnifient show of football by Seryes FC during their first win in the 2010 MMU Champions League match against Dettol FC. No, he didn't score like he usually do, but he sure did play important role in the 2 goals from Seryes.

The arrival of two new players, Daron and Tareg helped to improve the defense of Seryes. These two new signings made the opponent's attacking seems blunt and fail to pose much threat to Seryes.

In the first half Seryes controlled much of the game and kept possession of the ball by playing short passing football. Seryes' golden pair; Pian and Maher showed great quality of football in the process of scoring the first goal by playing a one-two move before Maher coolly slots the ball in for the first goal. The great partnership of these two players are growing greatly and they proved to be a force to be reckon with by the rivals of Seryes.

At half time the first substitution was made by Seryes by replacing the returning former striker of Seryes, Shahazman with the veteran winger, Iman. Seryes kept the possession of the ball much in the second half.

The only threat by Dettol came when a corner kick was awarded for Dettol. A missed catch by Eidy found the head of a Dettol's player and the ball nearly went in and thanks to Amir's awareness, the ball was cleared off the line. Then the referee blowed his whistle for a foul by Dettol.

Thereafter, Seryes dominated the game and kept on pressuring the Dettol's defense with great plays. Iman nearly scored when a dangerous curving corner by Avi found Iman in the box but Iman failed to place his shot on target and put the ball over the bar. Then Iman and Izmie showed great teamwork play by playing a one-two before a long shot by Iman was saved brilliantly by Dettol's goalkeeper.

Then, the second goal came. Iman played a clever quick-short corner kick to Pian and quickly Pian crosses the ball to find Tareg's head. Tareg used his height well and showed his superb heading ability to find the opposition's net for the second goal.

A few minutes later the referee blown his whistle for the end of the match. The final score is Seryes 2 - 0 Dettol. A true footballing quality was shown by Seryes and it is good to see they finally able to show their true ability.

Manager : We are outsiders. Seryes boss finds defeat hard to take

Seryes boss conceded his side were now "outsiders" for the title after losing 3-1 to Victory.

The manager has refused to rule his team out of the title race and is optimistic Seryes' rivals will drop further points before the end of the season.

"It is difficult to swallow a defeat like that when we felt we were the better team," he told MMUfc Sports 1.

"Victory defended well until the last minute so you have got to give them credit."

Asked about Seryes' title chances, he said: "We are outsiders but we will fight until the last day of the season.

"I believe everyone can drop points. Let's come back to win our next game first and then see where we stand."

In the match, the only goal for Seryes was scored by the late comer Avi. Victory's goalkeeper failed to catch the ball properly after Kit's dangerous free kick and Avi was the quickest to get to the ball and tapped in for Seryes' only goal in the match. Seryes had attacked well and threatened the Victory defenders but still failed to turn the attacks to goals.

In the first half Iman nearly equalised after Victory's first goal when Pian's pinpoint cross found Iman who was free to head the ball but only manage to find his header ended up going against the bar.

"I need to sharpen my finishing!", said Maher when he missed 3 half chances to score.

"It's a good start, it's only our first match. Let's learn from our mistakes in this match and start to focus on the next match!", said Fahrul, the new team captain.

"We missed Jo", said Iman who thought that the absence of Jo has weakened the Seryes' defensive line.

Seryes is going to face Dettol in the next round of the group stage on the 26th of February.

Seryes drawn into the group of death (?)

Seryes FC will be in group C along with Dettol, Victory and Mantisz in this sem's MMU Champions League.

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Seryes held to a draw by The Lanun in a fierce, drenched match.

It was a fierce encounter between these two teams in the heavy rain. Seryes, who were playing with two imported players due to lack of their own players, were struggling to play their usual short passing game because of the heavy rain that caused the field turned into a swamp. The match ended with a 2-2 draw with goals courtesy of Boy, an imported player from FnF. Here are some of the actions from last evening's game...

Seryes have completed the signing of Black Emperor's Walah in an undisclosed deal.

The 24-year-old Black Emperor (B.E) player has agreed a 1 sem contract as Seryes boss continues a major overhaul of his squad.

"I listened to them and I got a great feeling about the club," said Walah. "I have made my choice with my heart and the coach has big plans for me."

Walah admitted it was a tough decision to leave B.E, where he made his debut aged 22 in 2007.

"It was very important how the coach spoke to me, how I would fit in his team. After that conversation I knew it was the right decision”, said the new Seryes player.

The signing of Walah was done to fill the left back position after Ajis decided to move on and follow the footsteps of Senyum by joining Lanun FC.

Seryes FC Wants Centre-Back, Reveals Progress

Seryes FC manager has clarified that he is looking to bring in a central defender during the ongoing transfer window.

Seryes FC defensive plans were hit in the summer when they were denied sale of centre back Senyum by arch-rivals Lanun FC. As such, there was speculation that the manager would get in a centre -back this month.

“We are working hard with the owners and the chief executive. We are progressing in some business. We need to bring a centre-back to the team,” the manager said in the MMU Daily Post.
